I have been soloing the UW a lot lately with my 55.

Mo/D

Smite - 16
Protection - 10
Divine Favor - 11 (Need +1 headpiece to get 12 for blessed aura)
Earth Prayers - 8

[skill]Shield Of Judgment[/skill][skill]Balthazar's Aura[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill][skill]Blessed Signet[/skill][skill]Essence Bond[/skill][skill]Balthazar's Spirit[/skill][skill]Blessed Aura[/skill]

When you first enter UW cast all of your enchantments and aggro the first group of Aatxes with a flatbow, if a nightmare pops up let him strip you and run back behind Benton.

To get around the Aatxes interrupts keep casting essence bond until all of them used savage slash, then cast SoJ, Balthazar's aura, when SoJ is almost recharged, make them use their interrupts again, then cast SoJ and they should die.

For the graspings just wait for them to all use their interrupts and cast SoJ, keep prot spirit and mystic regen up, and they will all die after 1 cast.

I kill all of the Aatxes except the 2 on top of the stairs by the gate to the smites since there is usually a nightmare there and you will die.

The run takes about 30-35 minutes once you get used to it, and on average I get 3 ectos per run.

(I know this is an old build, but I thought it could help with the guide.)

now is this for normal or hard mode? And do you still get ~3 ectos per run in normal? Because this looks like a normal mode build.

That is in normal mode, sorry I forgot to mention that.

I tried in hard mode, but the nightmares have to much health, and the result is a quick death since the aatxes have a 50% speed boost, so you do not have time to cast PS after your enchants get stripped if you need to.

After killing all but the 2 aatxes and finishing the smite run, the average is 3 ectos a run.

The reason I use essence bond, balths spirit, and blessed signet is because is makes the run safer and faster. I also tested with more smite skills, but everything tends to scatter too much, and it actually slows the run down a lot.

Take 2 headpieces, the divine +1 to cast blessed aura, and the +1 smite when you are actually fighting.

Just FYI,

I've used MoR + Zealots and it does fine. Just watch your spamming like any other Zealots build. You can also use Flame Djinns Haste since it's both AoE Fire dmg and a nice running skill.

I've also created a nice build using Mo/E to "slowly" farm insects in HM outside Sunspear Sanctuary. It works pretty darn well but is a bit tedious.

I've also been experimenting with PS + Stoneflesh Aura on low HP builds. It works but is a bit wierd. The casting order matters (like PS + SH matters) and sometimes you take damage out of nowhere but I think I've figured out why. Going to post a new thread regarding the build concept.

55 right outside of bergen. Any 55 build with SoJ works but you need about 10 regen total so mending+healing breeze works fine.

Get gold deadbows and ranger tomes a lot. Got 5 purple armour in 2 runs.

I have been running this build in hard mode for farming Elite Tomes, Passage Scrolls and just normal gold items.

Earth Magic - 12
Protection Prayer - 11+3
Divine Favor - 6 +3 +1

Protective Spirit
Shield of Absorption
Shielding Hands
Glyph of Renewal [E]
Sliver Armor
(Optional - I run Mending / Watchful Spirit / Ward of Stability / Frozen Burst )
Balthazar's Spirit
Blessed Aura

OwYUk4l8WoN1j76KZZwDVdyDACA

I farm the Charr in Hard Mode in the Nolani Academy mission. In the begining you cast the 2 or 3 bonds on yourself, open the gate and run down to the front of the gate and aggro the charr. There will be a random boss of 1 of the 6 core professions. I have been able to kill all of them but Necro because of degen which im working on creating a build to counter this. When you aggro cast PS then SoA/SH. Immediately run next to the boss, target him, and cast the glyph followed by Sliver Armor. Be mindful though the charr elementalists cast Meteor shower so make sure not to get interupted and try to place your casting in the middle of the knockdowns. If you have Ward of Stability cast that immediately so you don't need to worry about interuption. After you have killed the boss that is the goal of the run, but you can continue and keep killing the charr. I average about 300gold and 1 rare item every time i clear the charr ( only the ones that attack the defenses, I don't leave the them normally to farm ). The run takes about 2-5minutes depends on what you are after. After about 10-15 runs i got 7 rare items, 1 elite tome, 1 passage scroll to UW and 1 to FOW along with tons of salvagable armors and white items. If you need help with the build PM me In game : )

really great guide, dont mind all the reading.

since i'm too lazy to get the -20 hp ankh could i use a Storm Artifact (energy +4, req none) with the inscription "Life Is Pain" (Health -20, Armor +4) instead?

Yes, the only reason you need the Ankh is for the -20 HP

Below is a list of the different things you will need to buy/pick up while beating the three campaigns so that you can farm:

-Prophecies-
>-20hp ankh (Quest given by Namar in Presearing or buy a better one from another player)
>-50hp cesta (Quest given by Symon the Scribe: Cities of Ascalon [Although he won’t show it, it is a quest reward for completing it] or buy it from another player)
>Fiery Flame Spitter also buy a 20% enchanting mod to add to it.
>Totem Axe buy it for a few plat.

-Factions-
None!

-Nightfall-
None!
If you're listing the Totem Axe as a weapon available for 55HP monks in Prophecies, why have you not listed Rajazan's Ferver for Factions or the Spirit of the Forgotten for Nightfall?

Just a random thought, wasn't meant to be critical in any way...I know they're more expensive than a totem axe, I just wondered why they weren't mentioned. I personally use a Spirit of the Forgotten, so that my monk isn't running up to people to hit them with an axe when I accidentally, and inevitably, press Spacebar!

blessed signet is almost necessary when you have 4 maintained enchantments, like the UW tank. it frees up a slot for the SS necro (no need for BR) and having no pips of regen can be annoying, to regain max energy between fights you'd have to remove one, then cast it again at max energy. you can also use it in battle when your energy enchants aren't quite enough. i use the skill occasionally as a 55 necro, even.

Want to give us reasons to back up that statement?

Blessed Signet isnt needed, but it speeds things up a lot. I use it all the time.

Surely you can go without blessed sig for some builds but the time wasted trying to have an "efficient" bar is not efficient at all when it comes down to the number of runs you can put out with blessed sig in most cases.

As for the items used for 55ing, maybe I should update just a bit.

I cant get to it today so I'll try and squeeze in an update tomorrow.

--edit--
nvm too much studying to do
